In the midst of a confused, dark, and disobedient world, the Bible introduces a man named Abraham. 

God chose him to carry on the line of worshipers.

God interrupted his life and shook him with both a command (Gen 12:1)and a promise (12:2-3).

God wanted Abram to carry on his very first command to humanity.

It’s similar to the command Jesus has given to us: “Go and make disciples,” “Go and tell the world who sent you and why.”

God doesn’t want us to stay in our comfort zone, building our own kingdom. He wants us to go out and share his blessings with others. 

God chose Abram to carry out his plan and to be a blessing (Gen 12:2-3).

Abram held fast to this promise, and it became a guiding light for him whenever he faced many difficult times.

And also this promise shaped his life as a worshiper.

At the beginning, Abram wasn’t perfect, as his story shows us. He made many mistakes.

But God worked in him and shaped him to fit his promise. In the end, he became the ancestor of the faithful.   

Do you believe that God has a plan for you?

Do you believe that God has given you his promises? What are those promises?

Maybe you can think about the Bible verses God has given you as you begin this year, 2026. Maybe you can discover God’s promises through your daily devotion.

To know his promises for you, you need to read the Bible.

Read the stories to see how God gave promises to his people, and trust that the same God wants to speak to you today.

Whatever those promises are, they will shape your life and guide your steps. 

God is the God who keeps his promises for his glory. Do you believe that? Then, don’t lose heart.
