Today’s Scripture is John 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,

for apart from me you can do nothing.”

나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라 그가 내 안에, 내가 그 안에 거하면 사람이 열매를 많이 맺나니 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무 것도 할 수 없음이라

In John 15:5, who does Jesus say he is? Jesus says, ‘I am the vine.’ What about us?

What does he say about who we are? We are the branches.

 * What does this mean? *

It means we get everything we need from Jesus, just like a branch gets all its nutrients from a tree through the roots and stem.

In other words, we cannot live without him, just like a branch cannot live apart from a tree.

If you abide in Jesus, you are nourished by his word, and you will bear fruit in your life.

Because we are not dead branches—we are living branches connected to the vine.

Let us abide in him through prayer and his word.
