Genesis 1:26 it says, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and

over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

*하나님이 이르시되 우리의 형상을 따라 우리의 모양대로 우리가 사람을 만들고 그들로 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 가축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하자 하시고

오늘 말씀은 하나님께서 우리를 하나님의 형상을 따라, 하나님의 모양으로 만드셨다는 것이 어떤 의미인지를 배워보았어요. 

하나님의 형상, 하나님의 모양은 하나님이 우리처럼, 눈이 있고, 입이 있고, 코가 있고...이런 생김새에 대한 이야기가 아니예요. 

When God made people, he made them to be like a mirror — to show what God is like to the world.

God made us like mirrors that reflect him. Let’s look at the friend next to us for a moment.

In the way your friend sees you, and the way you see your friend, you can catch a glimpse of God.

That’s why we were made to be mirrors that show God to the world.

Then, what about likeness? This doesn’t mean how we look. It means we are made to be like God in our character. 

Who thinks you’re more like your dad in your personality? Raise up your hand! Who thinks you’re more like your mom in your personality?

Maybe some of you are not sure yet? Just like that, we don’t just take after our parents in how we look, but also in our personality.

And because God is our Father, we also have parts of God’s character inside us — that’s what it means to be made in his likeness.

So, remember: God made us in his image — like mirrors that show him to the world.

And God made us in his likeness — so we can be like him in how we think, love, and act.

That means every time we are kind, loving, or forgiving, we are showing God to others.

We were made to reflect God’s love and character every single day.
