Today, we are lighting the candle of peace

Now we have hope to be delivered, to be restored, and to be born again because of God’s grace and mercy.

Now, let’s look at the candle of peace. Only Jesus, the Prince of Peace, can offer us true peace so that we can be reconciled with God.

Let us hear the prayer as we light our second candle.

“Prepare the way of the Lord.

We light this candle in peace, the peace that Jesus, our Savior, gives to the world.

Prepare, then, the way of the Lord.” 

Today’s Scripture is Matthew 3:1-2. We’re going to hear the second voice of Advent.

Let’s hear the voice of John the Baptist today through Matthew 3:1-2.

“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea. "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Unless we confess our sins, there is no peace. We experience constant conflict in our hearts

unless we turn to one another and confess our sins. It is the same in our relationship with God.

John the Baptist’s message—“Repent!”—was actually a message of peace.

It was the first step toward restoring peace in our broken relationship with God.

Sometimes we don’t recognize the need for repentance because we are so proud of ourselves. 

We need the light of Jesus Christ, who has come to us, to shine into our hearts.

Unless His light shines, we cannot repent. We cannot bring peace on our own.

죄를 깨닫게 해 주실 성령 하나님을 의지하고, 죄를 깨달았을 때 용기있게 하나님께 가지고 가, 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 아뢰는 우리들이 되어요.
