What would Jesus do?

*

It means, “What Would Jesus Do?” What does this mean? This phrase reminds us of who Jesus is and what he has done.

It encourages us to invite Jesus into all our situations and ask,

“What would Jesus do in this situation?” or “If Jesus were here, what would he do?”

This involves our hearts. We confess that our decisions are not always right.

Sometimes our emotions take the lead - our anger or our sadness.

We have to calm down and seek God's voice. We shouldn’t react right away but respond in prayer.

Reacting is easy and quick, and sometimes it gives us a sense of control—a sense of winning.

Responding, however, is harder and slower, and it doesn’t always give us what we want.

Sometimes it even feels like we’re losing.

But remember the story of Jacob’s sons. In their anger, they destroyed many lives—and in the end, no one was there to comfort Dinah.

In the end, they gained nothing. What looked like a victory was not a victory at all.

Do you want to follow your own way, or turn back to God’s way?

God’s way is always the best, because he sees our past, present, and even our future.

His goodness never changes, and his love never fails.

With this understanding and this belief, let’s remember the question, “What would Jesus do in this situation?”

When you fight with your friends, when you feel like taking revenge, when you want to control the situation,

or when you want to prove that you’re right, stop and think first:

“What would Jesus do?” Then ask God, “What should I do? What choice will I make?”
