Why do we do Quiet Time, Bible study, and prayer, that we call “spiritual discipline”?

Because we are disciples of Jesus Christ. We discipline ourselves to be his disciples.

And in the end, we want to follow his Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20

 "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, go therefore and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you always to the end of the age."

This is our goal. We go out and tell everyone that Jesus died because of our sins,

but he is alive because he loves us so much that he can give us an eternal life!

And he will come again to bring us back home!

 John Piper says, “Missions exists, because worship doesn’t”

what does it mean? 

We are sent into the world, where there is no Jesus, where God's holiness and worthiness are not recognized!
