Today’s Scripture is 1 Corinthians 8:9
“But take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.”
그런즉 너희의 자유가 믿음이 약한 자들에게 걸려 넘어지게 하는 것이 되지 않도록 조심하라

Paul says,
"You know very well about food offered to idols. And you also know that idols are not real gods. They are nothing."
So some of you might say,
"Food is just food. Idols are fake. They can't eat food, even if people spend all day preparing it for them. They can't do anything with it."
And Paul says, "I agree with you! You're right. You understand this very well!"
But here is the problem!
Some believers who knew that idols were nothing began to act carelessly.
Because of their knowledge, they felt free to go out or visit their friends' houses and eat food that had been offered in sacrifice to idols.
They thought, "Idols are nothing, so this food is just food. There is nothing wrong with eating it."
Some believers used their knowledge in the wrong way. Their understanding was correct, but they failed to act in love toward other believers.
That’s why the Apostle Paul says, “This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up.” (1 Cor 8:1)
Knowledge, is it enough? Well, maybe only halfway.

Paul says, you forgot one thing. Your knowledge may be correct, but it is making you proud instead of loving your brothers and sisters.
Don’t put a stumbling block in front of your brothers and sisters because they might fall.
Even though you have the right understanding,
if you fail to build up your brothers and sisters with that understanding, your knowledge is worth nothing.
Knowledge is important, but everything should be done in love.
Don't let knowledge be your only guide. Let love guide everything you do.

A stumbling block is something that causes another person to fall.
It can be your freedom; It can be your careless actions; It can be your arrogant words.
Careless actions and arrogant words always come from pride.
Just think about what kinds of stumbling blocks you may have put in front of your brothers and sisters.
So instead of putting stumbling blocks in front of others, let's help one another overcome them through togetherness.
Don’t be a stumbling block but a stepping stone.
*
We huddle up to overcome obstacles together.
In today's game, we had to work together and think about the people next to us.
If someone struggled, the team had to slow down and help.
In the same way, Paul taught the Corinthians that being right or having freedom is not the most important thing.
We should think about how our actions affect others and make sure we are helping them follow Christ
rather than becoming a stumbling block.
